Winter, spring, and summer can suck it.

It's fall, aka THE BEST season. So, because we love all things fall, we've listed out some reasons why it is, in fact, the best!

Fall Smells Like a Campfire

I am not sure why fall always seems to smell like this, but it is an astounding quality for a season to have and it is great. Just something in the air, I suppose. Campfire smell is the best smell. I'm not sure why the other seasons don't smell like this.

The Temperature Is Perfect

Everyone who likes summer is a sociopath. (Sorry, not sorry.) You feel like you should go outside during summer, but you don't because it's a billion degrees, and everything is on fire in certain states. Things mostly stop being on fire in the fall, which is nice. If you want to argue that winter is the season with the best weather, congratulations on being a polar bear.

All the Good Sports Are in Full Swing

College basketball and the NBA start in the fall. College football and European soccer are in full swing. Those are the only good sports, and during the fall, they are all happening at the same time.

The Leaves Look Pretty

The leaves, while withering and dying and falling off branches to the ground—to be turned into dirt, become nutrients for the trees, and eventually turn back into leaves—look extremely good.

It Has Halloween

Halloween is fine if you're into that sort of thing, I guess. It's not my personal cup of tea, but if you want to do the whole dress up, get really drunk, try to hook up with strangers who are also in costume, fail and go to bed sad, and wake up still in your costume, you go for it. I assume there are other ways to experience Halloween, but that seems to be how my generation does it.

IT HAS THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving is the best holiday, bar none. It has tons of food and drinking—but not Fourth of July-New Year's Eve-St. Patrick's Day-Halloween drinking—very little effort in terms of how festive you're supposed to be, and football provides an easy way to avoid talking to your relatives. Thanksgiving forever!

Flannels Are Finally in Season

This is the only time of year when comfortable shirts are actually fashionable, so take advantage while you can.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte Debate Heats Up

Are Pumpkin Spice Lattes good? Are they actually bad? The answer is extremely subjective, but that doesn't stop folks from passionately debating each other over the merits of a coffee drink.

The best thing about PSL debates is watching them. Generally, the people in the "for" camp are like, "the drink tastes good," and the "against" camp counters with "WHY ARE YOU SO BASIC AAAAAHHHH." It's fun. Really.

Fall Has Columbus Day

Just kidding, no one cares about Columbus Day.

My Birthday Is in the Fall

This is actually the only reason for the list.
