Fun is just a short car trip away for Baltimore spring breakers.
Spring break is right around the corner. If you don’t have plans, don’t worry! There are plenty of places within driving distance of Baltimore where you can enjoy a quick getaway. From the beaches of Ocean City to the banks of the C&O Canal, Maryland has plenty of fun activities to keep the kids happy during the break.
Hershey Park
Hershey Park in Pennsylvania is a favorite for kids of all ages. A visit in spring means temperatures are cooler, the park is less crowded, and your chocolate is less likely to melt. The park is only open for three weekends in April, but for $38.95 per person, you’ll get admission to Hershey Park and ZooAmerica. Hershey Park is located about two hours from Baltimore, so you can hang out for the day or stay overnight in one of the area hotels.
Great Falls Park, C&O Canal Quarters Lockhouses
Great Falls National Park spans Maryland and Virginia, encompassing some of the most beautiful hikes in the region. The park is also home to parts of the C&O Canal and its historic lock houses. Each of the six lock houses is available to book for overnight stays through the C&O Canal Trust. Each home is restored to a different time period from the 1830s to the 1950s—so no WiFi! Bookings run around $100 per night, and houses sleep from six to eight people.
Ocean City
Ocean City is mostly a summer destination, but visiting in spring means you can enjoy the town without all the crowds! Explore the beach and then go for a swim in one of the heated indoor pools. You can also book premium hotel rooms at much lower prices.
