The weather's changing and getting colder, but your kids' intrinsic need for running around is still the same. Here are three places in Littleton where kids can be active, let loose, and even get a little dirty -- no matter what's going on outside!

When it comes to indoor fun, these three Littleton companies take the cake, giving your kiddos a place to be kids -- without overturning the furniture or traipsing sand inside your just-cleaned house. Kids Dig 8601 W. Cross Dr. Unit B6-1 | Littleton, CO 80123 Ages 3–10 $9 for one hour |$13.50 for two hours [gallery columns="2" ids="27788,27789,27790,27787"] More than 40 tons of Quikrete play sand fill the 825-square-foot indoor sandbox at Kids Dig, also known as "Colorado's largest indoor sandbox." Using the provided toys and quarry equipment, kids can dig and build sand castles, creating indoor fun to their hearts' content! Plus, parents can sit on the side and access the free Wi-Fi or let their smaller kids play in the separate carpeted play area for children under 3. Kids Dig just recently opened, bringing its sandy wonderland of fun to the masses. And if you don't understand that trudging through sand and working with all that heavy equipment is going to wear out those growing kiddo muscles just in time for a solid afternoon nap, then let us introduce you to parental bliss.
Dart Warz 8150 S. University Blvd. | CentennialCO 80122 Ages 5 and up $7/hour and up (prices vary depending on day; check website for details) [gallery columns="2" ids="27779,27778,27781,27780"] If you're tired of those pesky NERF gun darts knocking breakables off your shelves, then it's time to load up the mini-van and haul the kids over to Dart Warz. An indoor foam dart battlefield for the whole family, Dart Warz rents out a variety of NERF blasters, but you can bring your own from home as well! They'll provide all the ammo. Kids can form alliances and declare war on one another in a perfectly safe environment, with refs always on duty to ensure that play remains fair. A signed waiver is required, but then you can leave your kids there and get some errands done while they play. Check their website before you go; certain times are designated for specific age groups.
JungleQuest 8000 S. Lincoln St., Suite 10 | Littleton, CO 80122 Ages 5–13 $13 for one hour | $15 for 1.5 hours (advance reservations recommended) [gallery columns="2" ids="27782,27784,27785,27783"] With indoor zip-lining, cargo net bridges, rock climbing, a ropes course, and more, kids at JungleQuest are guided and supervised by a kid-friendly, qualified staff as they venture off into a exploring jungle of activities. The center is super-safe (kids wear harnesses and are taught safety rules), so you can sit off in the parents' waiting area confident that they've having the time of their lives. Your kiddos will expend tons of energy here, falling in love with the tree house lookout and fun slides, as well as a 20-foot rock climbing wall. It's recommended that if you're planning to just "drop in," you call before you go, just to make sure they still have space. It's also a great place for birthday parties and day camps.
