The '90s icon also has a new album due out next year and a Broadway show based on “Jagged Little Pill” beginning this month.
Alanis Morissette has announced plans for a North American tour starting in June of 2020. The tour will land in 31 cities including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, with stops here locally in Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia Beach, Virginia!
Morissette’s album Jagged Little Pill was one of the most successful albums of all time, selling over 33 million copies. The album won five Grammy awards, including Album of the Year, with both “Ironic” and “You Oughta Know” hitting No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Alternative Chart.
The Jagged Little Pill Tour will kick off on June 2, 2020, in Portland, Oregon, and will include appearances by Garbage and Liz Phair. Fans can expect Morissette to play hits from the iconic album as well as songs from her new album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road. This will be her ninth studio album and will be released on May 1, 2020. The first single, “Reasons I Drink,” is currently available for download.
Tickets for the Jagged Little Pill Tour will go on sale to the public on December 13, 2019, at 11 a.m. Citi cardmembers can buy tickets and VIP Packages starting on December 10, 2019. Fans will receive an instant download of the single “Reasons I Drink” and a download of the complete album when it’s released next year.
Fans can also head to Broadway to see the new musical inspired by Jagged Little Pill. The show was written by Diablo Cody and directed by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus, with music and lyrics written by Alanis Morissette. The show opens on December 5 at the Broadhurst Theatre.
