Authorities are searching for a 20-year-old Loudoun County woman after she went missing in the Dominican Republic earlier this week. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) confirmed with DC News Now that 20-year-old Sudiksha Konanki, a Loudoun County resident and student at the University of Pittsburgh, was reported missing on Thursday, March 6, while she was traveling with friends in Punta Cana. Defensa Civil Dominicana, a government agency responsible for coordinating and managing emergency preparedness, response and relief efforts in the Dominican Republic, said crews in the area are searching for Konanki, posting video of a helicopter above the water and authorities on the beach on Sunday.
