GREENBELT, Md. (7News) — A barricade situation in Greenbelt, Maryland, came to an end Saturday afternoon after police took a suspect into custody, according to a spokesperson with the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD).

The incident unfolded at the Springhill Lake Apartments, a PGPD spokesperson confirmed to 7News' Maryland Bureau Chief Brad Bell.

PGPD officials add that a hostage was unharmed and a man is in custody.

Details on what led to the barricade have not been released, but PGPD officials tell us Greenbelt Police Department is handling the investigation.

Authorities have not yet identified the suspect or the hostage, but PGPD says there were no reported injuries.
