A groundbreaking for a new Buc-ee's location in Kansas City, Kan., could come sooner than expected. The proposed location, near the Kansas Speedway off Village West Parkway, took a step forward after the Wyandotte County-Kansas City, Kan., Unified Government's Board of Commissioners approved an ordinance freeing up land for the development. Officials said the groundbreaking could take place before May 1. Plans for the site include 120 gas pumps, 12 electric charging stations and a 74,000-square-foot facility. Officials estimate the store will create more than 200 full-time jobs and attract 4 million visitors annually, with 70% coming from outside Kansas.
