EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Columbia County Commissioner Alison Couch has announced her intent to run for chair of the commission.

Couch currently represents District 4.

“I’m just looking forward to continuing the excellence that Columbia County has in the past years,” Couch says about why she wants to run. “I look forward to bringing a new vision to the table as well.”

Signs, signs and more signs. They’re posted all over Augusta, and city leaders want to take them down.

She adds she has enjoyed her time as commissioner.

Current Chairman Doug Duncan’s term ends in 2026.
