The Pungo Strawberry Festival is a Hampton Roads tradition!
Back for its 36th year, the annual Pungo Strawberry Festival is a great way to spend your entire day! It's a good ol' country time with delicious traditional Southern food, fun activities the whole family will love, and of course, the opportunity to collect your own fresh strawberries!
WHEN: Friday–Saturday, May 25–26
WHERE: Pungo Farms | 1776 Princess Anne Road | Virginia Beach, VA 23456
Each year, Pungo Farms picks a theme for the festival, and this year is "Rise and Shine, It's Strawberry Time."
What to Expect:
This popular event gets bigger every year, so you can expect it to be crowded – but oh so worth it!
Families will enjoy the carnival, berry-picking (check out the locations for berry-picking here!), pig races, live music, food, arts and crafts, and 4-H entertainment (pony rides, exhibits, and more). Check out the vendor map here!
The event will be held rain or shine, and sorry, but no dogs are allowed.
Since the weather is finally warming up in Hampton Roads, sitting around the 80s, we recommend wearing sunscreen and a hat to avoid turning into a lobster. Just a heads up: the event brought in 80,000 people last year, so plan ahead to get there early if you want ample parking or to avoid any heavy crowds.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to nonprofit community and service organizations and they have proudly given $1.2 million to organizations thus far.
For more information, check out the event's website or Facebook page.
