Area high school and college students are eligible to apply for the scholarships.

Your favorite place to get a cup of coffee and donut might just help you pay for college! DMV area Dunkin’ stores are partnering with Scholarship America to give back to the community with a new scholarship program.

Now through April 15, students in four mid-Atlantic states can apply for a scholarship to use at any two-, four-year college, university, or technical school. A total of 40 scholarships (valued at $2,500) will be awarded to local students who are scheduled to attend school this fall.

The Dunkin’ scholarships are open to both part-time and full-time students, along with students who are already enrolled in college.

The average cost for a four-year college in 2021 was $10,338 for a public in-state school, $22,698 for an out-of-state college, and $38,185 for a private college. Paying for college is challenging and most students depend on grants, loans, and applications to pay the bill. Dunkin’ hopes this program will help students reach their educational goals.

"On behalf of my fellow DMV-area franchisees, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize the hardworking students in our local communities and help ease the financial burden of higher education for deserving students throughout the region," said Maria Icaza, D.C.-area Dunkin' Franchisee. "The Scholarship Program is part of our commitment to keep local students running on Dunkin’ and serve as a reminder of the importance of supporting our local communities as our local community does for us."
