The Emporia High girls swim and dive team finished in a tie for seventh at the Topeka West Invitational on Tuesday. Allie Weiss won the diving portion of the meet with a score of 248.80, winning by 18.85 points. Brooke Monroe finished fourth with a score of 186.35. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Taryn Woydziak, Makaelyn Haag, Camryn Spafford, and Monroe finished sixth with a time of 4:44.48 for the top finish in the swim portion of the event. Monroe finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:19.78). The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Woydziak, Ava Podrebarac, Spafford and Monroe finished seventh (2:03.40). Ellie Grimmett finished seventh in the 500-yard freestyle (7:38.19). Podrebarac was eighth in the 500 free (7:39.23) and finished ninth in the 200-yard individual medley (3:08.32). Spafford finished ninth in the 50-yard freestyle (29.79). Emporia High will host its Senior Day meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, diving will start the meet, and swim events will follow.
