Movie buffs can get their film fix with more than 40 movies and 80 shorts over the four-day festival.

Grab the popcorn: The 21st annual Maryland Film Festival is back in Baltimore's Station North Arts and Entertainment District!

Held at the historic SNF Parkway Theatre, movie-goers can attend a variety of film screenings and panels featuring the artists behind their cinematic visions. With over 40 feature films and 80 shorts being screened, cinephiles are sure to be in for a treat. Here are some festival highlights you won't want to miss:

• The documentary Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool, featuring director Stanley Nelson and fellow musician and Miles Davis collaborator Lonnie Liston Smith.
• Balti-Shorts, a series of short films made in and centered around the city of Baltimore. 
• John Waters Presents, where director and Baltimore icon John Waters chooses and presents a film of his choice. This year he's presenting the 2017 dark comedy Mom and Dad starring Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair.

Attendees can choose from three different pass options for the ultimate festival experience. For $450, the All-Access Pass includes early seating to all screenings and access to exclusive festival galas like the Opening Night Shorts Program. It wouldn't truly be all-access without access to the Filmmaker/VIP Lounge, where guests can enjoy concessions and hob-nob with filmmakers in person. Talk about a red-carpet experience! The $100 Hall Pass covers the price of all the films screened in Falvey Hall, the largest of the six theaters participating in the festival. Not a bad price considering you'll get to see some of the hottest movies before anyone else! Reserve them here.

This year the festival is unveiling the Binge Pass, which will allow viewers to binge some of the most-anticipated movies of the event. The films are hand-picked by the festival's expert screening committee, so you know their selections will be good. Binge Passes will go on sale soon, so check back on the festival's website.
