ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Another former Albuquerque police officer has admitted to taking part in a scheme to get DWI cases dismissed by not showing up to court.

Harvey Johnson Jr. took a federal plea deal Tuesday. He’s the third officer to resign from APD as the federal investigation into the DWI unit began in 2024.

In court documents, Johnson Jr. admits to teaming up with former attorney Thomas Clear III to get DWI cases thrown out of court. He agreed to not showing up to court and in turn getting money or gifts.

Johnson Jr. faces up to 20 years.
