Halloween fun returns to Six Flags America this fall.
COVID may be curbing the Halloween fun this year, but Six Flags America has found a way for everyone to celebrate safely. Hallowfest will take place this fall on weekends from October 3 through November 1 at Six Flags America in Bowie. The annual Halloween event includes live entertainment, spooky scenes, one-way fun mazes, Halloween activities, and rides. All guests over 3 years of age will be required to wear a mask, and the park will have health and safety protocols in place including temperature checks and advance ticketing.
Daytime at Six Flags America is tailored to the little ones. Children under 8 are allowed to wear costumes while collecting individually wrapped treats on the trick-or-treat trails, attending Halloween-themed magic shows, and entering costume contests. The park will also have special hay bale corn mazes with one-way traffic to keep everyone safe.
At night, get prepared to scream when you see the park is transformed into a land of Halloween horrors. The Capital Railways turns into the Reaper Railways with scary scenes around each corner. Four scary lands—Medieval Mayhem, Zombieville, Carn-Evil, and Ghost Town—are yours to explore and live out all your Halloween frightmares. A limited number of scare actors will be around the park, keeping a six-foot distance, of course. Fog, flashing lights, and eery music throughout the park make the "scare-ing" complete.

Visitors can indulge in Halloween-themed treats like funnel scream cake, candy monster Dippin’ Dots, and scare-acha boneless wings. Take home Halloween gear, including masks, light up devil horns, and glow-in-the-dark jewelry. Face masks will also be available for purchase with one mask for each purchased going to local school districts.
To keep the park safe for everyone, team members and visitors over age 3 must wear masks, and social distancing will be enforced. Restrooms, rides, handrails, seating, and other high traffic areas will be cleaned and sanitized regularly, and hand-washing stations will be located throughout the park. Tickets for Hallowfest must be reserved online and start at $34.99. Parking must also be reserved ahead of time at a cost of $25. Multi-day tickets and season passes are also available for sale.
