CLEMSON — Clemson basketball ended its regular season on a eight-game win streak.

The No. 11 Tigers beat Virginia Tech 65-47 on Saturday at Littlejohn Coliseum behind their stout defense. They forced a season-high 23 turnovers that led to 24 points. The win helped them set a program record for regular-season wins and cement their No. 3 seeding in the ACC tournament.

Clemson will make March Madness, too, entering Saturday's game as a NCAA tournament lock, according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi . It projects as a No. 5 seed in the NCAA tournament.

There is a little more than a week until the March Madness bracket is finalized on Selection Sunday (March 16), so here's a look at how Saturday's win could affect Clemson's seeding.

How Clemson basketball's win vs Virginia Tech affects March Madness

Clemson had no more Quadrant 1 regular-season games after beating SMU in February. Still, it won four straight games against Quad 2, 3 and 4 opponents to polish its NCAA tournament résumé. It ended its season defeating Virginia Tech, a team not projected to make the tournament, so a win won't impact its projected seeding.

Teams projected ahead of Clemson didn't suffer any critical losses either for the Tigers to crack a No. 4 seed.

If Clemson has a lengthy run in the ACC tournament, it may have Quad 1 opportunities. Clemson has a 4-2 Quad 1 record with wins against No. 2 Duke and No. 24 Kentucky and losses to No. 13 Louisville and No. 16 Memphis. It is also 14-1 in Quad 3 and 4 games.
