WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The Wichita Falls Police Department is investigating a death after a woman’s body was found on Wednesday morning.

Officers on the scene said that around 4 a.m., the deceased body of an adult woman was found on a futon inside a home on the 1200 block of 36th Street.

According to the Wichita Fals Fire Department’s Assistant Fire Marshal Jody Ashlock, the home where the woman was found was involved in a house fire.

WFFD has confirmed there were no other injuries reported from this situation. This is an active investigation; the woman has not been identified as of the publication of this article. WFPD said her next of kin was being contacted.
