Two sloths living at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens have a new home with the opening of Sloth Crossing, the zoo's new habitat for Ruth, a 7-year-old female Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth, and Chata, a 29-year-old female Hoffman’s two-toed sloth.

The two slow-moving mammals joined the zoo last year.

The new sloth habitat comes as work continues on the zoo's $52 million Rezoovenation campaign to add a reimagined entrance , manatee exhibit and more to enhance animal welfare as well as the visitor experience at the Northside attraction.
