NEW ORLEANS — Former St. Aug basketball standout Jaron Pierre Jr. has reportedly entered the transfer portal and declared for the NBA Draft.

The news was reported by multiple sources, including On3Sports’ Pete Nakos.

Pierre is coming off a stellar season at Jacksonville State, where he finished fourth in the country in scoring with 21.6 points per game while shooting 42 percent from the field.

Pierre also showed off other facets of his game, averaging 5.5 rebounds with nearly 4 assists per game.

He was named the Conference USA Player of the Year.

Jaron Pierre scored a season-high 36 points against Middle Tennessee in the conference tournament on March 14th and followed that up with a 30-point performance in the Gamecocks’ NIT win over Georgia Tech in the NIT.

Their season would end on March 23rd with a loss to top-seeded UC Irvine.

Pierre started his college career at Southern Miss before transferring to Wichita State, Grambling, and Jacksonville State.

The 6’6, 208-pound guard averaged 27 points per game his senior year at St. Augustine High School.
