KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WIBW) - Kennedy Taylor’s near perfect day for K-State women’s basketball wasn’t nearly enough as the Wildcats fell to West Virginia 73-69 on Friday in the Big 12 Tournament.

K-State scored a program record 33 points in the first quarter and took an eight point lead into halftime. However, it was West Virginia’s Ja’naiya Quinerly who stole the show for the Mountaineers. Quinerly notched a game-high 24 points on 50% shooting and never came off the court.

The bright lights of the T-Mobile Center did not bother K-State’s Taylor who was perfect from the floor (9-9) in 22 minutes off the bench.

West Virginia is set to face No. 1-seeded TCU on Saturday at 3 p.m in the semis.

The NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Show is on Sunday, March 16 at 7 p.m.
