It's pretty cheesy, if we do say so ourselves.
Kraft has announced it will be making some changes to its classic macaroni and cheese. The new name is something most of the world already uses “Kraft Mac & Cheese."
The name change was made to reinforce the common way most people refer to the iconic grocery product.
In addition to the new name, the product is getting a new logo that features a curved piece of macaroni resembling a smile and a box that is one color. The new boxes will make their appearance on store shelves in the next couple of months.
"We know that people aren’t turning to comfort food as a guilty pleasure, they are positively embracing comfort, saying yes to feeling good, saying yes to caring for themselves," said Victoria Lee, Kraft Mac & Cheese Brand Manager. "There is a familiar, craveable, positive comfort to Kraft Mac & Cheese that makes it so special and iconic to millions of people across the world and our new look is a reflection of what our brand means to our consumers."
Last summer, Kraft partnered with gourmet ice cream company Van Leeuwen on a macaroni and cheese-flavored ice cream. Flavored with Kraft’s famous cheese sauce mix, the rich ice cream became an instant hit. You can find it at Van Leeuwen stores, grocery stores, and online.
Created in 1937, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese became popular during World War II because meat and dairy were rationed. The shelf-stable mix became popular because it was a quick and easy meal that could be whipped up after a long day.
In Canada, it’s simply called Kraft Dinner; while in the U.K., people know it as cheesy pasta.
