A shooting occurred on The University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) campus on Friday morning. According to Colorado Springs Police, shots were fired around 6:05 a.m. in a dorm room at Crestone House.

At least two people are dead. The identity of the two victims has been revealed: Samuel Knopp, a 24-year-old student at the university, and Celie Rain Montgomery, 26, who was not enrolled in the university.

It's been investigated as a double homicide. A suspect in the investigation has been taken into custody.

"Given this case’s active and fluid nature, additional information about those leads and any potential suspect details will not be released at this time," police said. "Investigative efforts so far continue to indicate this is an isolated incident between parties that were known to one another and not a random attack against the school or other students at the university."
