Oh, baby! BabyCenter, an online parenting resource, has recently unveiled its list of 2024's most popular baby names. This is the publication's 20th year of reporting on baby names nationwide.

And the top baby names for 2024 are ... Olivia and Noah.

Now, it's important to note that this list is not the official one that's put out every year by the Social Security Administration (that one will be released sometime next year!), but this list from BabyCenter gives parents a first look at upcoming and emerging trends in baby names.

BabyCenter conducted its report based on 500,000 babies born this year—out of the estimated 3.66 million born yearly in the United States.

What's interesting is that while many names have trended in recent years, there are also some new additions, including some French names, for example, which have gained popularity since the 2024 Paris Olympics, said BabyCenter.

Most of the names on the list are similar to those released on the Social Security Administration's list for 2023.
