WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Center for Nonprofit Management & Leadership in the Dillard College of Business Administration at Midwestern State University has been accepted into the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council. The NACC is an international association that focuses on studying nonprofit or nongovernmental organizations, voluntary actions, and philanthropy. Sonia White is the center’s director and will also be the NACC member representative for MSU Texas. White said she had wanted the center at MSU Texas to be a member of this association since she arrived here in 2019. “Only recently have we been able to meet all three of those criteria and benchmarks – and I am super excited,” she said. The NACC has benchmarks in three areas—education, research, and community engagement—that all prospective academic centers must meet to become members. The center was founded in 2019 and has become a hub of nonprofit capacity-building for Wichita Falls and the surrounding communities. It offers resources, consultations, and a nonprofit management minor. By joining the NACC, the center joins other nonprofit programs, such as those at the University of Texas, Texas A&M and others.
