The
2025 NCAA D1 Indoor Track and Field Championships kicked off with a bang, as women's and men's track and field events got underway at Virginia Beach Sports Center. Virginia's men's distance medley team, anchored by Gary Martin, took the top spot, while BYU claimed the women's title. Doris Lemngole of Alabama dominated the women's 5000m, and Brian Musau of Oklahoma State won the men's 5000m with a blistering final 200 meters. Simen Guttormsen of Duke cleared 5.71m to win the men's pole vault, and Kelsey Daniel of Texas leaped to a program record 8.16m to claim the men's long jump title. Illinois leads the women's team scores, and Oklahoma State tops the men's team scores. Notable performances included Nathaniel Ezekiel's 45.44 in the men's 400m prelims and Chrstyn John Stevenson's 6.46 in the men's 60m prelims.
