Arlington along other parts of Northern Virginia and the D.C. area are at risk of severe storms and flooding tonight (Monday). The region is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until midnight, with ping-pong-size hail and wind gusts up to 70 mph possible, according to the National Weather Service. As of publication time, a non-severe storm was rolling through Arlington from the south, while parts of Fairfax County west of Arlington were under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Some areas of flash flooding are also possible tonight, forecasters say, with several inches of rain expected. So far no watches or warnings have been issued for the flooding potential.
