It will be a chilly start to the day on Monday with morning low temperatures in the 30s. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 50s.

Warmer weather will return on Tuesday with highs reaching the 70s statewide. It will be very windy with south and southwest winds gusting between 40 and 50 miles per hour.

This will lead to very high fire danger across the state, especially over western Kansas where humidity will be the lowest.

A cold front will move into the state Tuesday night, bringing a chance of thunderstorms during the late evening and into the overnight hours over central and eastern Kansas.

There is some uncertainty regarding how widespread any storms will be, but any storms Tuesday evening and overnight could be severe with large hail and damaging winds.

A cooler weather pattern is on the way later this week and into next weekend as high temperatures fall into the 50s and 60s.

More rain will be possible Friday and Saturday. Severe weather is not expected with this activity.
