HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - No. 8 Maryland defeated No. 13 James Madison, 11-5, on Saturday at Sentara Park. The Terrapins’ defense held the Dukes scoreless in the first period. Kori Edmondson led Maryland (4-1) with three goals and an assist, also causing two turnovers. Goalkeeper JJ Suriano made 13 saves on 25 shots. For JMU (4-2), Maddie Epke and Maggie Clark each contributed a goal and an assist. Defensively, Chloe Bleckley recorded three ground balls and a career-high four caused turnovers, while Maddie Weybrecht had a career-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Adanya Moyer made eight saves on 30 shots. Up next for JMU, the Dukes take the road to open up AAC play at Vanderbilt on March 15.
