We have a wide variety of weather across Kansas this morning. Light snow has pushed into southern portions of southwest Kansas from the Oklahoma Panhandle as a weak system moves south of our region. Areas near the Oklahoma state line and into far southwest Kansas could pick up an inch or two of snow this morning. Some slippery travel is possible through midday with Winter Weather Advisories posted through 6 pm Saturday in far southwest Kansas and through midnight Sunday in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Northwest Kansas has clear to partly cloudy skies with central Kansas, including Wichita under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures range from the lower to middle 20s across northern Kansas to mid 30s to near 40 near the Oklahoma state line of south central Kansas. Most will see any clouds give way to some sunshine this afternoon with high temperatures below average in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Wichita’s average high is now 56. High pressure will build in from Colorado tonight as low pressure moves away. This will provide the state with mostly starry skies tonight. With light wind and dry conditions, temperatures overnight will drop into the middle to upper 20s by early Sunday morning. Sunday looks like a very nice ending to the weekend with plenty of sunshine as high pressure over the southern Plains brings winds around to the west. This will push our temperatures back above average, reaching highs in the back into the lower to middle 60s statewide. Warming will continue into the upcoming week with sunny to partly cloudy skies through Thursday and Springlike highs into the upper 60s to upper 70s.
