Blue Bell has made a fierce comeback in Hampton Roads!

Blue Bell Ice Cream is now being sold in Hampton Roads as of March 25! They have restocked the shelves of local grocery stores after distribution closed down back in 2015 due to a Listeria contamination.

The ice cream can be found in most retail locations, so check your local Kroger, Walmart, Walgreens, military commissaries, and other local grocery stores for your favorite flavor -- if you can't find the section, just ask an employee.

The ice cream can be found in all surrounding Hampton Roads cities including Suffolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg.

The Texas ice cream company announced that they are opening a new 14,000 square-foot distribution center in April, in Suffolk, Virginia.

"Our brand new facilities will house all of the products for the area. We have around 20 employees on staff at this time at each location. Initially, we will bring in additional employees from other states to help with the opening. It could take up to two weeks to deliver our products to every store that is selling Blue Bell," Jimmy Lawhorn said in a statement

Originating out of Brenham, Texas, Blue Bell also makes ice cream in Oklahoma and Alabama and then ships the product to distribution centers across the country.

Locals are expressing their excitement.

The company offers 40 different types of flavors, including light and no sugar added, sherbet, and other frozen snacks as well as the ice cream. The favorite flavor since 1969 is the homemade vanilla! Do you agree?

The ice cream comes in different sizes including a half gallons, pints, sherbet quarts, and three-gallon tubs -- which do you prefer?
