Life is too short to be eating boring food. Luckily for you, Maryland has your back with some great Maryland food festivals this weekend!
While the state is certainly known for its crab and seafood, there are so many other delicious, locally sourced foods to try. To get the word out, many cities plan elaborate food festivals during the spring and summer months to spread the news about the sweet eats they have to offer! The first weekend in June is usually set aside by Maryland towns and cities for their annual Strawberry Festivals, but there are other events dedicated to Maryland eats scheduled this weekend as well that you won't want to miss!Taste of 3 Cities - Baltimore June 3
On Saturday, June 3 from Noon to 9 p.m., Patterson Park on Eastern Avenue will be turned into a foodie’s paradise. The event is put on not only to celebrate Baltimore cuisine, but also to bring in culinary stylings from Washington DC and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All together, there are expected to be 40 food trucks from these three great American cities. The cuisine will be judged and the Mayor’s Cup will be awarded to the food truck and city that comes out on top. In addition to the food, there will also be live performances throughout the day from the area’s top musical and dance acts. General admission tickets cost $15. A family pack will set you back $39 and get you admission for two adults (along with drink tickets) and admission into the KIDS ZONE for one or more children. VIP tickets are still available for $65 ($75 at the door) and includes admission into the VIP zone for drinks, bites, and mingling with local celebrities. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Sunday, June 4, visitors will be able to sample Wheaton’s best restaurants. The festival will be set up at the corner of Grandview Avenue and Reedie Drive in downtown Wheaton, just one block north from the Wheaton Metro stop.
The incredibly diverse list of participating restaurants -- spanning from Italian to Thai to Indian -- will offer samples of their delicious menu items at prices ranging from $1 to $5. Additionally, there will be a beer and wine garden set-up for adults over the age of 21. For the kids, there will be vendors offering rides, face painting, balloon sculptures, and even caricature drawings. Live music and dance performances are planned as well.

Great Grapest Wine and Food Festival - Hunt Valley June 3-4
2017 marks the 14th annual Wine and Food festival in Hunt Valley, Maryland. This year’s festivities include more than 220 wines, over 25 Maryland wineries, and a schedule so packed they had to turn it into a two-day event.
Stroll from tent to tent and use your souvenir tasting glass to sample the best wines that Maryland has to offer. The event promises live music, delicious food, crafts and gourmet items for sale, and even a free kids area.
Parking is free and a shuttle service will be available to ferry visitors from the Hunt Valley Mall light rail stop to the festival. Look for the shuttle bus to Oregon Ridge Park. If you taste any wines you absolutely loved - which you will - you can purchase wines by the bottle or case and have them packed and waiting for you when you leave the festival.
General admission tickets are available starting at $29 and include a souvenir wine glass for unlimited wine samples and admission into the musical performances. VIP tickets cost $56 and include access to exclusive wine and food tastings. Designated driver tickets are available at both levels but can only be purchased at the door.

Strawberry Festivals! June 3
Warm weather came early this year, which means locally grown strawberries were available a little earlier in the season. But that isn’t stopping Maryland towns from celebrating and holding their own strawberry festivals!
On June 3, there will be Strawberry Festivals in Glen Arm at the Waugh Methodist Church, Linthicum at the Benson-Hammond House, Parkville at Weber’s Far,, St. Michaels at St. Luke’s Church, Sandy Spring at the Sandy Spring Museum, Sykesville at the Messiah Lutheran Church, and Westminster’s Zion United Methodist Church.
These events are all child-friendly, with different games and vendors hired to keep kids entertained, and there will be live music and great food available for purchase.
