PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Big weather changes are on the way to Arizona thanks to two storm systems moving this way. Look for mostly cloudy skies by this afternoon in the Valley, with above average temperatures in the upper 70s. There’s a slight chance of showers tonight, mainly after midnight. Shower chances increase Thursday morning across the state with the arrival of a cold front. Morning shower chances are near 30% in the Valley, with sunshine likely for the afternoon hours. Look for a high of 71 degrees. Strong winds are expected across Arizona on Thursday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday for Flagstaff, Williams, Munds Park and surrounding areas above 6,000 feet. Thursday’s storm is expected to bring a couple of inches of snow to these areas. Friday will be a First Alert Weather Day . Expect a stronger storm system with colder air and more moisture. Rain chances in the Valley are near 60% on Friday, with up to a quarter inch of rain possible. Temperatures won’t climb out of the 50s. Heavier snow is likely in the high country on Friday, with an additional 5-10 inches of snow possible along the Mogollon Rim and into the White Mountains. Visibility will likely be reduced, and travel will be difficult. The storms clear out for the weekend, which looks to be mostly sunny and warmer across Arizona. In the Valley, look for highs in the upper 60s on Saturday and upper 70s on Sunday. We’re watching for the potential of another storm early next week.
