Post offices in Baltimore, Columbia, and Frederick are just some of the locations offering extended holiday hours.
Still hoping to make it to the post office to mail those holiday gifts? The Postal Service is making it a little easier. The United States Postal Service in Maryland has announced extended hours for 20 post offices across the state. From now until Christmas, locations from the Eastern Shore to Westminster will be open on Saturday and Sunday ahead of the Christmas holiday on Saturday, December 25.
This week will be the busiest week of the year for the postal service, with more than 2.3 billion packages and cards scheduled to be delivered. Post office locations slated for extended hours will be open on December 11 and 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and December 12 and 19 from noon to 4 p.m.

To keep wait times shorter, prep your packages before you get to the post office or take advantage of the Click-N-Ship program to ship packages from home. The cutoffs for delivery on Christmas will remain the same:

- Priority Mail - Saturday, December 18
- Priority Mail Express - Thursday, December 23
