SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It was a frigid start out there this morning, a stark contrast to yesterday morning. We had a cold front come through late Saturday, this shifted winds to come out of the northwest, and usher in much colder air. We’re starting off with temperatures in the teens, and winds gusting 20-30 mph at times, so the feels-like temperatures are on either side of 0° this morning. There is a Cold Weather Advisory in effect for Northern Berkshire County through 11am this morning. Today will feature mostly sunny skies, but despite that, it will be very cold with daytimes highs only reaching the lower and middle 20’s for the valley, likely teens and lower 20’s for the hills. Winds will continue, gusting at times up to 30 mph throughout the day, so feels-like temperatures will be in the single digits above and below 0°. Tonight, we hang onto mostly clear skies, winds start to die down and our temperatures fall into the single digits. Monday, not as windy, good sunshine, and highs around 30°. Temperatures start to recover by Tuesday with highs back into the 40’s. It’s March, so we get a bit more of that roller coaster of temperatures. We have a low-pressure system on the way for Wednesday that looks to bring us a wind-swept rain throughout the day, perhaps lingering into Thursday. No snow is expected as temperatures will be in the 50’s. We’re dry and breezy for the end of the week and into next weekend.
