It will be a cool start to the day on Sunday with morning low temperatures in the 40s. Afternoon highs will reach the low to mid 60s. Northwest winds will gust between 30 and 40 miles per hour during the morning with winds starting to back off by late in the afternoon. The gusty winds, combined with low relative humidity, will lead to very high fire danger statewide. We will finally get a break from the wind from Monday through Wednesday. High temperatures will reach the 70s during this time. Warmer weather will continue for the rest of the week into next weekend. Our next storm system could move into Kansas by next Saturday, bringing a chance of thunderstorms. There is still high uncertainty regarding the timing and track of this system, so some changes to this part of the forecast are still possible in the coming days. Mon: High: 74 Partly cloudy. Sat: High: 74 Low: 57 Mostly cloudy and breezy; chance of PM storms.
